To strengthen the capacity of child foundation group orphaned children member in mitigating against the social and economical impact of the epidemic.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To establish revolving loan scheme for the group members
2. To develop support systems for orphaned children
3. Carry out HIV/AIDS campaigns

SUSTAINABILITY

The group members have agreed that any money collected and lent will be paid back with an interest to ensure continuity of the project activities. The interest will be 10% of the total amount given out. This will be paid together with the group members on business management skills, saving and credit will increase efficiency in running the members’ small- scale businesses. It will also ensure effectiveness in management of the savings and credit schemes. Hence, the proper management of these activities will mean sustenance of the project.

POTENTIAL IMPACT

Child foundation group members are expected to get accurate message on HIV/AIDS through the peer education sessions at group level. It is also expected that through these sessions, there will be behavioral change among the members and other community members.

It is also expected that members will strengthen their business through easy access to base capital in form of a loan and the proper management skills. This is hoped to increase the income levels per household of the group members. It is also expected that orphaned children will be assisted through the project to get their life requirements.
